From the producers of A Night With Janis Joplin: "When the two companies of A Night With Janis Joplin were touring the country, we quickly discovered that the extraordinary vocal requirements of the role of Janis required another actress to perform a few performances each week. We're thrilled to have Mary Bridget Davies leading this fine company of actors on Broadway and Kacee Clanton, who led our recent Austin production to critical acclaim and is currently playing the role of Janis in San Jose, will be joining the company at the Lyceum."

Starting, Monday, October 14, Davies will perform Tuesday through Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees (6 performances per week). Clanton will performWednesday and Saturday matinees. Hailed by The Washington Post as "a remarkable, exhilarating portrait of a singer in love with the cleansing embrace of the crowd," A Night With Janis Joplinwill begin preview performances at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre (149 W. 45th Street) on Friday, September 20th, with opening night set for Thursday, October 10th.

Like a comet that burns far too brightly to last, Janis Joplin (Mary Bridget Davies) exploded onto the music scene in 1967 for three incredible years, reigning as the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll. The unmistakable voice filled with raw emotion and tinged with Southern Comfort made her a must-see headliner from Monterey to Woodstock. A Night With Janis Joplin is a musical journey celebrating Janis and her biggest musical influences - trailblazers like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith, who inspired one of Rock 'n' Roll's greatest legends.

The production arrives in New York following acclaimed engagements at Portland Center Stage, Cleveland Play House, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, Pasadena Playhouse, and Milwaukee Repertory Theater.

A NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin is written and directed by Randy Johnson, and features choreography by Astaire Award winner Patricia Wilcox (Motown), set and lighting design by Justin Townsend(Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), costume design by Amy Clark (Chaplin), sound design by Carl Casella (Relatively Speaking), projection design by Darrel Maloney (American Idiot), music direction Ross Seligman (One Night With Janis Joplin regionally), and original music direction and arrangements by Len Rhodes (Mike Tyson's The Undisputed Truth in Las Vegas).

A NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin is produced by Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich, in association with The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeffrey Jampol for JAM, Inc.
