Brooklyn born Jasmine Cephas Jones, a graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, is making her Broadway debut in Lin-Manuel Miranda's smash hit HAMILTON.
At first she's introduced as Peggy Schuyler, one-third of the high society trio that gets caught up in the rising spirit of the revolution, but in act two she appears as Maria Reynolds, the woman whose affair with the title character becomes one of the young nation's first sex scandals.
Dressed as Maria Reynolds, Jones is the latest subject in the musical's series of portraits taken by photographer Josh Lehrer using his 1839 lens.
