This afternoon marks the first day of #EduHam, a series of HAMILTON Wednesday matinees made available to New York City schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families for the ticket price of only $10.
As reported by BroadwayWorld, HAMILTON producer Jeffrey Seller and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin, NYC Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Fariña and Gilder Lehrman executive director Lesley Herrmann announced in October this educational partnership to provide 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see HAMILTON on Broadway and integrate the show into classroom studies. This educational initiative is made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation to Gilder Lehrman.
The action at the Richard Rodgers Theatre began early, with performances by the students themselves and a Q&A session with cast members.
Naturally, social media is blowing up with #EduHam posts. Here are the early dispatches. Check back for updates.
Tomorrow, 1300 students perform for US in the morning, Q&A with us, then see our matinee.

They took us inside a slave ship, to Thomas Paine's thoughts, to Eliza's dying breaths, & everywhere in between.
Then we did a Q&A w the cast and I may be wrong, but I think SOME of them had a crush on @Anthony_Ramos1.
