Roundabout Theatre Company's (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie began previews on Thursday, September 10th at 8:00PM.
Bye Bye Birdie stars John Stamos,Gina Gershon, Bill Irwin & Nolan Gerard Funk with Jayne Houdyshell, Dee Hoty, Matt Doyle, Jake Evan Schwencke and Alllie Trimm. Bye Bye Birdie is directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom with a book by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams.Bye Bye Birdie will open officially on Broadway on Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at the new Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd Street). This will be a limited engagement through January 10th, 2010.
Additional cast members include Catherine Blades, Deanna Cipolla,Paula Leggett Chase, Riley Costello, John Treacy Egan, Colleen Fitzpatrick, Todd Gearhart, Patty Goble, Suzanne Grodner, Robert Hager, Nina Hennessey, Natalie Hill, Julia Knitel, Jess Le Protto, David McDonald, JC Montgomery, Jillian Mueller, Paul Pilcz, Daniel Quadrino,Emma Rowley, Tim Shew, Kevin Shotwell, Allison Strong, Bethany Ann Tesarck, Jim Walton, Brynn Williams, Branch Woodman.
