TUTS Announces Full Casting for HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2

“Excitement is mounting as we prepare for the Professional Stage Premiere of Disney’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 from November 6-16 at the Fabulous Fox Theatre,” states Nick Manos, President of Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars.  “We encourage everyone to take a break and spend some time with their families by joining us for this uproariously funny and upbeat musical based on the smash hit Disney Channel movie.”

 “We are delighted to announce a sensational cast in a show that is sure to entertain the whole family!” adds Producer Christopher B. Manos, Producer of Theater of the Stars.  “Below is a listing of our marvelous cast.”

Anderson Davis is East High’s star basketball player Troy Bolton.  Anderson’s New York credits include Les Misérables (2006 Revival on Broadway), Damn Yankees (Encores!) and workshops of Side Show and Pure Country.  Regionally he’s appeared in West Side Story (Portland Center Stage), A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (Denver Center Theater) and most recently he starred in the role of Marius in the Theater of the Stars production of Les Misérables at the Fabulous Fox.

Arielle Jacobs reprises her role as the sweet brainiac Gabriella Montez.  She originated the role in Theater of the Stars professional premiere of Disney’s High School Musical and starred in the 1st National Tour of the show. Other theater credits include A Chorus Line, Cinderella, Babes In Arms, The Rose of Corazon and workshops for Mask The Musical. Rebecca Faulkenberry struts her stuff in the fabulous role of Sharpay Evans, East High’s drama diva.  This world traveler was born in Texas, grew up in Bermuda, received her undergraduate training at Indiana University, then got her Masters Degree in Scotland. She starred as Sharpay in London’s West End Production of Disney’s High School Musical. Other credits include The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds), The Royal Family and The Mikado (Seaside Music Theatre, Florida) and Slow Dance With A Hot Pick Up (Wells Metz Theatre, Indiana).

Bobby List is Sharpay’s brother Ryan Evans, Co-President of the Drama Club and East High’s favorite dancer.  He starred in the role in Theater of the Stars professional premere of Disney’s High School Musical and in the1st National Tour. As a recent graduate of CCM, Bobby has been seen playing opposite Debby Boone in The Human Comedy at Barrington Stages and in Richard Maltby Jr's newest musical The 60's Project at the Goodspeed Opera House.

Shannon Antalan portrays science club president Taylor McKessie.  Her Broadway credits include Caroline Or Change and Xanadu and Off-Broadway she appeared in Junie B. Jones. She starred as Inez in the 1st National Tour of Hairspray. One of her favorite regional parts was that of the leading role in Abyssinia. (Goodspeed Opera House)

Paul Downs Colaizzo plays aspiring chef and Troy’s teammate Zeke Baylor.  Paul May be best known for his role as Van on the hit daytime television series “As The World Turns.”  In New York he’s appeared in Twilight In Manchego, The Brain From Planet X, Hair and Missionaries. He wrote and composed the music for the sold-out NYC run of Suicycle: An Attempted Theatrical Rock Experiment. Regional credits include Fiddler On The Roof, Great Expectations and Merrily We Roll Along. Paul graduated from Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta, GA.

Michael Mahany recreates his role as Jack Scott, “the velvet fog” news announcer of East High. He originated the role in the Theater of the Stars professional premiere of Disney’s High School Musical and was in the 1st National Tour of the show.  Off-Broadway he appeared in Spring Awakening (ATC) and Mister Fabulous (York Theatre). Regional credits include Forward.

Olivia Oguma portrays pianist and composer Kelsi Nielsen. She starred as Kelsi in the Theater of the Stars professional premiere of Disney’s High School Musical as well as in the 1st National Tour. Broadway and National Tour credits include Mamma Mia!, A Christmas Carol and Les Misérables. Regionally she’s appeared in BFE (Long Wharf) and Skin Of Our Teeth (Bristol Riverside) and her television credits include “Law & Order,” “The New Electric Company,” “All My Children” and “As The World Turns.”

Jelani Remy stars as Troy’s best friend and fellow teammate Chad Danforth. He also starred as Chad in the 1st National Tour of Disney’s High School Musical. Regional credits include Cabaret, Parade and A Grand Night for Singing.

Patrick Richwood plays Fulton, the highly efficient manager of Lava Springs Country Club. Audiences will recognize Patrick as Dennis the elevator operator in the hit movie “Pretty Woman.” Some of his favorite roles in theater include Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Goat in The Robber Bridegroom, Konstantin in The Seagull, Deputy in Drood! and Ellard in The Foreigner (for which he won A Helen Hayes Award). He’s appeared in 23 films including “The Princess Diaries,” “Dear God,” “The Other Sister,” “Beaches,” and “Armageddon.”

Lizzie Weiss returns to the role of hip-hop afficiando Martha Cox. Lizzie starred as Martha in the Theater of the Stars professional premiere of Disney’s High School Musical as well as the 1st National Tour.

Members of the ensemble are: Tia Altinay, Andrea Best, Xavier Cano, Alicia Charles, Anthony Christian Daniel, Marjorie Failoni, Derek Ferguson, Samantha Lea Hewes, Lauren Lim Jackson, Benjamin Mapp, Tim McGarrigal, Neptune, Josh Sassanella, Melinda Sullivan, Casey Tuma and Travis Waldschmidt.

The Wildcats are back for an all new adventure with rocking new songs like “What Time Is It?” “Fabulous,” and “All For One.” School’s out and Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and the rest of the East High gang are diving into a summer of cool moves and hot competition at Lava Springs Country Club.  Join them as they put their talents and friendship to the ultimate test.
