TURNING 15 ON THE ROAD TO FREEDOM Offers 2-FOR-1 Tickets for Martin Luther King Day Weekend! ImageLooking for the perfect family event for MLK weekend? The Center at West Park, The Loire Valley Theater Festival and Miranda Barry are excited to announce that Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom, the stage adaptation of the acclaimed, multi-award-winning memoir, by Lynda Blackmon Lowery, will be offering 2 tickets for the price of 1 to help you celebrate!

The critically acclaimed "powerful" singers of the Riverside Church Inspirational Choir will open all of the special Martin Luther King Weekend performances beginning Friday evening, January 12th through Monday January 15th. The MLK Day Benefit on January 15th will also feature an exclusive Q&A with Lynda Blackmon Lowery following the performance.

Tickets for Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom are on-sale NOW for the 2-FOR-1 MLK Weekend Ticket Discount, as well as regularly priced tickets of $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for students. Tickets can be purchased online through the production's website www.turning15ontheroad.com or though www.eventbrite.com directly. Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom lets audiences of all ages experience what it took to struggle nonviolently and how it felt to be part of changing American history. As Lowery stated in an interview with CBS News, "Every day in your life is a journey, and you have the ability to make history every day, but only if you are willing to take the first step." No one is too young to make history.

Adapted and Directed by Ally Sheedy (The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, High Art, Psych), and featuring young actress, Damaras Obi, Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom tells the moving, true story of Lynda Blackmon, one of the youngest participants in the Selma to Montgomery March in 1965. Jailed nine times before her fifteenth birthday, Lowery fought alongside Martin Luther King, Jr. to secure the right to vote for African-Americans.
