TURNING 15 ON THE ROAD TO FREEDOM Extends 2-For-1 Ticket Offer at The Center at West Park

Producers The Center at West Park, The Loire Valley Theater Festival and Miranda Barry are excited to announce that Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom, the stage adaptation of the acclaimed, multi-award-winning memoir, by Lynda Blackmon Lowery, will be EXTENDING its 2-for-1 ticket offer through Saturday, January 20th. Remaining performances available are Friday, January 19 at 8:00 PM and Saturday, January 20 at 3:00 PM & 8:00 PM. The critically acclaimed singers of the Riverside Church Inspirational Choir will open the weekend performances.

Adapted and Directed by Ally Sheedy (The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, High Art, Psych), and featuring young "powerful" actress, Damaras Obi, Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom is not only "great for kids, but also electrifying enough to keep the attention of adults as well", raved YesBroadway. Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom lets audiences of all ages experience what it took to struggle nonviolently and how it felt to be part of changing American history.

Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom tells the moving, true story of Lynda Blackmon, one of the youngest participants in the Selma to Montgomery March in 1965. Jailed nine times before her fifteenth birthday, Lowery fought alongside Martin Luther King, Jr. to secure the right to vote for African-Americans. As Lowery stated in an interview with CBS News, "Every day in your life is a journey, and you have the ability to make history every day, but only if you are willing to take the first step." No one is too young to make history.

Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom began on Wednesday, January 10 and will run through Saturday, January 20, 2018.
