TOMATOES GOT TALENT Competition Set for Stage 72 Tonight

Think Bucket List!! 12 finalists - doctors, retired school teachers, inn owners, etc., will perform for a packed, sold-out crowd tonight, Jan. 21, 2014, 7PM, at Stage 72/Triad, 158 W. 72nd Street as part of TOMATOES GOT TALENT!

Among the talented performers vying for top prize -to appear in a professional revue with top Broadway and cabaret entertainers: Alice Levine, MD is one of NYC's top endocrinologists, and a professor at Mt. Sinai School of medicine for over 25 years. She studied to be a singer, but then decided to pursue a medical career instead.

The oldest finalist: Edna Kaufman, 80 years young! In 1980, she sang our National Anthem at a Madison Square Garden hockey game. Her home was nearly destroyed in hurricane Sandy.

Another is Riki Kane-Larimer, who came up with a better idea to open a wine bottle and the Rabbit was born! She grew it into a huge company, Metrokane, which she sold last month. She now wants to make people laugh!

Robin Gerson-Wong sang on Broadway in the 1970s and "retired" to motherhood (mom of twins) and is now a Berkshire's inn owner.

Celebrity judges include Tony nominated (Boy from Oz, Sweeny Todd) Beth Fowler who is also in the hit Netflix series, Orange is the New Black, TV and Broadway actor Margaret Colin (As the World Turns, Gossip Girls and Jackie), and Alyce Finell, Emmy and Ace Award-winning TV producer and writer, and co-director of The Mabel Mercer Foundation.

100 percent of the talent entry fees will be donated to the NY Chapter of the National MS Society.

"The bottom line is never give up on your dream," says show co-creator Cheryl Benton, whose popular (and free!) online newsletter, The ThreeTomatoes (thethreetomatoes.com) is "The Insider's Guide for Women who Aren't Kids".

Co-creator of the event, Randie Levine-Miller who has produced, hosted and/or performed in over 80 star-studded events will host.
