This week highlights the opening of RICHARD III/TWELFTH NIGHT, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, as well as Broadway Rocks Caberat, and MAMMA MIA'S 5,000th performance. Check out the rest of this week's photos below.

On November 9th, MAMMA MIA celebrated it's 5,000th performance on Broadway. The cast and crew celebrated their peformance with a cake made by Mauro Amato from Cake Boss. The cake was presented on stage to the cast and crew, and also allowed audience members to get a discount at Carlos' Bakery where Cake Boss is filmed. Samuel Barnett, Joseph Timms, Mark Rylance and the Cast

TWELFTH NIGHT and RICHARD III opened this week on Broadway, featuring Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry. After breaking all box office records in London, the show came over to Broadway with an all male cast and Elizabethen era set and music. Audiences also saw authentic Elizabethen pre-show rituals, such as the audience putting their make up on onstage. For pictures of the curtain call, click here.

As part of the opening night of RICHARD III AND TWELFTH NIGHT, BroadwayWorld was at the stagedoor to watch well known actor Stephen Fry sign autographs at the stagedoor. Many people came out to greet the West End actors, and to see more of stagedoor photos of the cast as they greet the audience. For more pictures, click here.



John Riccucci & William Ivey Long

On November 11th, the Goodspeed Opera House, known for putting on regional and Broadway-hopeful musicals during the summer, celebrated it's 50th anniversary. Hundreds of actors, directors, and designers came together to honor the anniversary of the Opera House at the Lincoln Center. The Goodspeed is the first regional theatre that won two Tony Awards for outstanding achievement. For more pictures from the celebration, click here.



Lesli Margherita

This past week, some of Broadway's best singers known for their offstage achievements came together for ROCKERS ON BROADWAY. In the past, the concert has raised up to $300,000 for various charities to Children Will Listen Foundation, BC/EFA, and The Broadway Dreams Foundation. This year's concert included people known for their offstage music, including Lesli Margherita, Tony Vincent, Lena Hall, as well as well known theatre performers including Norm Lewis. Cyrille Aimee, Jeremy Jordan and Bernadette Peters

From November 13 to November 17, some of Broadway's best actors, including Bernadette Peters, Norm Lewis, Cyrille Aimee, and Jeremy Jordan come together to put on Sondheim's A BED AND A CHAIR: A New York Love Affair. The Encores! Event shows a passion for the city that features two dozen Sondheim to be peformed at the Lincoln Center Ochestra. For more information and pictures from the production click here.



The Company of LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE

On November 14th, the much-anticipated opening of LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE based on the film of the same name opened at the Second Stage Theatre. The cast includes Rory O'Malley, Wesley Taylor, Stephanie J. Block, and Will Swenson. The story is about Olive Hooper, a young girl that decides that the title of "Little Miss Sunshine" is within her grasp. Along the way of the 800-mile trek brings the family closer. Courtney Reed & Adam Jacobs

Aladdin, currently playing at Toronto's Ed Mirvish theatre, will open to the public on November 21st and run through January 5th. The cast includes Adam Jacobs, who has been in shows such as LES MISERABLES, and THE LION KING, as well as Courtney Reed, who has been in IN THE HEIGHTS and MAMMA MIA. The show will be transferring to Broadway this spring and play at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York. For more pictures of the production, click here.
