The 2014 Broadway Carols for a Cure CD is available for purchase either online at broadwaycares.org or in person at many participating Broadway shows. The recording is a compilation of various holiday songs recorded by this year's Broadway casts, sold to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. BroadwayWorld has been at several recording sessions for this year's CD - including WICKED's! Several of the show's cast members gathered together to record "In the Bleak Midwinter." THE RIVER, starring Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman, as well as Cush Jumbo and Laura Donnelly in their Broadway debuts, opened last Sunday, November 17th at the Circle in the Square Theatre! Running in a strictly limited thirteen-week engagement, this Jez Butterworth play tells the story of a man who brings his new girlfriend to a remote cabin on a moonless evening. OUR LADY OF KIBEHO officially opened last weekend (November 16th) in the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Written by Katori Hall, this new play is directed by Michael Grief. The play tells the story of a girl in a Rwandan village who claims to see the Virgin Mary. Though at first she is ridiculed and ostracized for her declaration, eventually her schoolmates and the other villagers are forced to reconsider, as seemingly impossible events begin to occur. The highly anticipated musical revival SIDE SHOW finally opened at Broadway's St. James Theatre on Monday night! Starring Emily Padgett and Erin Davie as the Hilton twins, this revival includes quite a bit of new music by Henry Krieger and features new book material by Bill Condon. The act one finale, "I Will Never Leave You," was broadcast live in Times Square during opening night. Aaron Tveit is making his long-awaited return to the stage in the Menier Chocolate Factory's production of ASSASSINS, which opens tonight! This performance marks Tveit's UK stage debut. Performing alongside him are Jamie Parker (the Balladeer and Lee Harvey Oswald) and Catherine Tate (Sara Jane Moore). Directed by James Lloyd, this classic Stephen Sondheim musical won multiple Tony Awards in the 2004 revival production. Click here to see more photos from the cast in rehearsals!

Christine Andreas returned to 54 Below this week with a brand new show: LOVE IS GOOD. After an extremely well-received run at the venue last fall, this marks Andreas's first performance at 54 Below since. Andreas's husband, award0winning composer Martin Silvestri, helped her concoct this show, with a setlist that ranges from the American songbook to Broadway. Manhattan Theatre Club presents the American premiere of CONSTELLAITONS, starring Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and two-time Olivier winner Ruth Wilson. This acclaimed new play by Nick Payne features direction by Michael Longhurst. The play is set to begin preview performances at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Tuesday, December 16th, with an official opening on Tuesday, January 13th of next year. The highly-anticipated revival of ELEPHANT MAN is now in preview performances at Broadway's Booth Theatre! Starring two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper, Emmy and Golden Globe Winner Patricia Clarkson, and Allesandro Nivola, the play is directed by six-time Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis. The revival is set to officially open on Sunday, December 7th, and will run for a limited engagement through mid-February. The star-studded cast of A DELICATE BALANCE took their first official bows last night: the show's opening night. Starring Glenn Close, John Lithgow, Lindsay Duncan, Bob Balaban, Claire Higgins, and Martha Plimpton, the show is running at the Golden Theatre with direction by Pam McKinnon.
