The cast of the Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR met with the show's most enthusiastic fans in line for free tickets today, July 5, dressed in hippie garb to celebrate its return to Broadway for a limited 10-week only "Summer of Love" run. To honor fans, the Tony Award-winning production returned to its free theatre roots by giving away tickets to the first 100 fans in line at the St. James Theatre box office. On Wednesday, the cast of Catch Me If You Can celebrated 100 performances on Broadway, and were accompanied by TV stars Susan Lucci and Laura Linney for the festivities. Broadway favorite Brent Barrett and Jenn Harris head the cast of SILENCE! The Musical, the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, book by Hunter Bell, and direction and choreography by Christopher Gattelli. SILENCE! The Bridge Project just opened Richard III starring The Old Vic Artistic Director Kevin Spacey at The Old Vic in London. The production will embark on an international tour including the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Spain's Centro Niemeyer, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Singapore Repertory Theatre, arriving at BAM's Harvey Theater in New York on January 10, 2012. Following on from the Menier Chocolate Factory's acclaimed productions of Sunday in the Park with George and A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's latest musical, Road Show premiered at the Chocolate Factory from 24th June. This production is directed and designed by the Tony Award Winning John Doyle and features David Bedella, Michael Jibson, Jon Robyns, Gillian Bevan and Glyn Kerslake. Rumors have been circulating this week that Hugh Jackman's one-man concert, Hugh Jackman in Concert, could be gearing up for a Broadway engagement as early as this year. The concert, which opened to raves in San Francisco this spring and even greater praise in Toronto on July 5, has been the source of Broadway buzz for months. New Line Cinema's film version of the smash hit Broadway musical "Rock of Ages" is currently filming under the direction of Adam Shankman ("Hairspray"), and despite his current lawsuit concerning his incident performing with the cast of the Broadway cast at the 2010 Tony Awards, Poison front-man Bret Michaels dropped by the set. Michaels took a moment to pose with Shankman and Malin Akerman, who is dressed in full Constance attire.

Open call auditions for the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL took place at The Actors Chapel in midtown Manhattan yesterday. The best of Broadway is being presented FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with "106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park 2011" - the annual lunchtime series that began on Thursday July 7th on the Bryant Park Stage. Sponsored by Bank of America, and Clean Air NY, and hosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities, the eleventh annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances runs through August 11th. Broadway is heating up this summer with the company of the record-breaking, Tony Award-winning hit CHICAGO welcoming Nikka Graff Lanzarone as she makes her debut in the role of merry murderess Velma Kelly. Lanzarone, who last appeared on Broadway in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, takes over for Amra-Faye Wright. HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING began a two day hiatus that lasts through tonight, July 8, to accommodate star of stage and screen Daniel Radcliffe's previously scheduled Harry Potter promotional obligations in the UK as the final film in the popular series officially opens. The highly anticipated new Potter film, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS - PART TWO premiered in Trafalger Square in London today, for which Radcliffe flew overnight after his 2 show day on Wednesday to make. Ms. Shields joined current Broadway cast members Roger Rees as Gomez, Brad Oscar as Fester, Rachel Potter as Wednesday, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Zachary James as Lurch, Adam Riegler as Pugsley, Heidi Blickenstaff as Alice Beineke, Adam Grupper as Mal Beineke and Jesse Swenson as Lucas Beineke. The Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of MASTER CLASS by Terrence McNally, directed by Stephen Wadsworth, began previews on Tuesday, June 14 and opened last night, July 7, to praise at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The limited engagement stars Sierra Boggess, Clinton Brandhagen, Jeremy Cohen, Tyne Daly Maria Callas, Alexandra Silber, and Garrett Sorenson.
