New pop-rock musical One Day began previews off-Broadway this past Saturday, February 7 at the 3LD Art & Technology Center where it is scheduled to run through March 1. Based on teen journal entries spanning two decades, One Day follows the electrifying journey of eight teenagers as they face ravaging internal struggles and exhilarating triumphs - from drug abuse to sexual awakening - on the passage to discovering their own truths. The upcoming Broadway production of FUN HOME released promo photos this week, and announced that Tony® Award-winner Michael Cerveris ('Bruce Bechdel'), three time Tony® Award nominee Judy Kuhn ('Helen Bechdel'), Beth Malone ('Alison'), Obie Award-winner Sydney Lucas ('Small Alison'), Emily Skeggs ('Medium Alison'), and more will reprise their roles from The Public Theater's acclaimed production this Spring. Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Kate Wetherhead's novel "Jack & Louisa: Act 1," which tells a story of friendship between twelve-year-old "Musical Theatre Nerds," was released February 10. BEAUTIFUL took home the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album on Sunday, and this Tuesday, the cast celebrated the win on stage at the Sondheim Theatre. The production has not received its trophy yet, so Carole King allowed them to celebrate their victory with one of her Grammy Awards in its place. See more pictures from the celebration here!
