Last weekend, HEDWIG Composer Stephen Trask tweeted a photo of rehearsals at the Belasco Theatre with the original cast members of the revival, including Tony Winner Lena Hall, along with the show's upcoming star: John Cameron Mitchell. John Cameron Mitchell created the role of Hedwig off-Broadway at the Jane Street Theatre and reprised the role in the film adaptation, for which Mitchell received a Golden Globe nomination. John Cameron Mitchell will officially begin performances in the production on January 21st of next year. Click here for more information!

Tony, Emmy, and Grammy winner Lin-Manuel Miranda is returning to the stage in his long-awaited original musical: HAMILTON. Detailing the life of Alexander Hamilton, Miranda has not only written the show, but he will also star as the title role. The show is set to play at the Public Theatre beginning on Tuesday, January 20th. The cast, which includes Christopher Jackson, Brian d'Arcy James, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom Jr., and more, is now in rehearsals. Click here to check out more photos!

This past Monday night, Artists Striving to End Poverty held their sixth annual New York City Christmas: A Concert to Benefit ASTEP. The evening was full of Broadway favorites, including Sierra Boggess, Lindsay Mendez, Derek Klena, Jeremy Jordan, Lauren Pritchard, Telly Leung, and many more. The concert was held at Joe's Pub, and it included original music as well as a hip-hop version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas." To see more coverage from the special event, click here!

It was announced this week that the world premiere of the musical adaptation of the film WAITRESS will be held at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge with direction by Diane Paulus in August of 2015. Written by Sara Bareillis and Jessie Nelson, the musical was workshopped in NYC recently, starring Tony winner Jessie Mueller, Keala Settle, Bryce Pinkham, Christopher Fitzgerald, Barrett Wilbert Weed, and Eric Anderson. Two-time Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and two-time Olivier Award winner Ruth Wilson will be featured in the January issues of Vogue. The actors are currently in previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in Nick Payne's CONSTELLATIONS, which is set to open on January 13th of the new year. It tells the romantic encounter of a man and a woman, but it goes further to dive into bigger questions about possibilities and the universe as a whole. The critically acclaimed cast of this year's BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL gathered together at the Apple Store in Soho to discuss the making of the cast recording for the show, which was recently nominated for a Grammy Award. Cast members included Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller, as well as Tony nominees Anika Larsen and Jarrod Spector. They performed songs from the show as well as participated in a discussion led by journalist Suzy Evans. BroadwayWorld was there for the special even, and you can click here to see more photos!

Imelda Staunton is set to star in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim, Jule Styne, and Arthur Laurents' classic musical GYPSY. The revival is set to open at the Savoy Theatre on April 15th of the new year. Tickets for this revival went on sale earlier this week, and the production released several photos of Staunton and other cast members in celebration of this. The Von Trapp children from NBC's SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE joined together at 54 Below earlier this week in a reunion concert. The concert featured Peyton Ella (Gretl), Ariane Rinehart (Liesl), Ella Watts (Louisa), Michael Nigro (Fredrich), and Grace Rundhaug (Marta), as well as standbys Meg Donnelly and Presley Ryan. A portion from the concert was aired on NBC nightly news to promote NBC's upcoming airing of the broadcast. Click here to see more photos from the exciting night of performances!

Andrew Lloyd Webber's famous musical CATS has made its return to the West End stage! It is currently in a strictly-limited run at the London Palladium. The cast features Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussy Cat Dolls as Grizabella. This marks Scherzinger's West End stage debut!
