This year's Tony Award winner for Best Actor in a Musical, Neil Patrick Harris, was honored with his own caricature at Sardis restaurant this week. Harris, who concluded performances as the title character in the musical revival HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH on Sunday, enjoyed widespread critical acclaim for his tour-de-force performance, alongside co-star and fellow Tony winner Lena Hall. This season's upcoming revival of Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU held an extremely unusual day of auditions this week, in search of two feline additions to the star-studded cast. Cast members, including Elizabeth Ashley, Rose Byrne, Annaleigh Ashford, Kristine Nielsen, and more, joined in for the selection of the best kittens for the job. Earlier this week, a total of eighty Creative Arts Emmys were presented at the Nokia Theatre, honor the tradition of the presentation of these categories the weekend before the live Primetime Emmys telecast, which will be held this Monday, August 25th. The theatre community was well-represented at this year's ceremony, with the 2013 Tony Award ceremony winning multiple awards. Other recipients included Uzo Aduba, Jane Lynch, Allison Janney, and HBO's "The Normal Heart." Click here to learn more about the ceremony!

The cast of this season's highly-anticipated Broadway production of IT'S ONLY A PLAY met the press this week. Written by four-time Tony Winner Terrence McNally, the play stars famed actors of stage and screen Stockard Channing, Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, Rupert Grint, Matthew Broderick, Micah Stock, and F. Murray Abraham. IT'S ONLY A PLAY is set to play an eighteen-week limited engagement at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, starting on October 9th. Tony Award nominee Andrew Rannells officially took over the title role in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH from Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris this past Wednesday, August 20th. Rannells, who has become a household name in recent years due to his television performances on "Girls" and "The New Normal," as well as his acclaimed performance as Elder Price in "The Book of Mormon," will strap on his heels and fishnets eight times a week through October 12th at the Belasco Theatre. Previews of last season's Off-Off-Broadway hit FABULOUS: THE QUEEN OF NEW MUSICAL COMEDIES are set to begin tomorrow, August 23rd. The musical enjoyed a sold out run at New York's Richmond Shepherd Theatre. It tells the story of two female impersonators trying to remain undercover on a cruise ship. Opening night is set for September 8th at the newly built Write Act Repertory Theatre in midtown. Click here to see more rehearsal photos!

THE COUNTRY HOUSE, one of the many plays opening on the Great White Way this fall, will begin previews on September 9th at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The star-studded cast, led by Tony and Emmy winner Blythe Danner, met the press earlier this week. The first national touring company of the 2013 Tony Award winning musical KINKY BOOTS is finally in rehearsals! Starring Steven Booth and Kyle Taylor Parker in the roles of Charlie and Lola, the tour launches on September 4th in Las Vegas. The cast collaborated with the critically acclaimed creative team this week in rehearsals, including Harvey Fierstein, Cyndi Lauper, and Jerry Mitchell. Click here to see more rehearsal photos!

Through the end of the month, Shakespeare's LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST will be performed at Bryant Park in association with the Boomerang Theatre Company. This musical adaptation of one of Shakespeare's oldest comedies features original music and lyrics by Henry Aronson and is directed by Cailin Heffernan.
