THEATER TALK pays tribute to playwright Edward Albee with a compilation episode that includes highlights from two of the playwright's interviews on the series, one from 2003, the other from 2007.
Albee, who died September 16, 2016, discusses his early days as an aspiring writer in Greenwich Village, his first success with The Zoo Story, and the ideas behind later works such as The American Dream, Three Tall Women, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and his sequel to The Zoo Story, Peter and Jerry, written over four decades after the original.
Co-hosted by Michael Riedel of the New York Post and producer Susan Haskins, this episode premieres Friday, Sept. 23 (2016) on PBS station Thirteen/WNET at 1:30 AM (Saturday morning) and repeats there on Sunday 9/25 at 11:30 AM; it reairs on CUNY TV* Saturday 9/24 at 8:30 PM, Sunday 9/25 at 12:30 PM, and Monday 9/26 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM; and also airs on WLIW/21 on Monday 9/26 at 5:30 PM and on WNYE/25 on Monday, 9/26 at 3:30 PM.
