America has spoken, everyone! This is the first results show where you decide who deserves to stay in the competition. The votes are in and one contestant will leave tonight. After singing their hearts out last night, only 11 will move on to next week's show. Are the best contestants moving forward or is the wrong contestant going home? Did America make the right decision? The answer will soon be revealed!
We first learned how the final decision of who will go home would be made. The top 10 that America has chosen will automatically move on. The bottom two will perform again tonight and the judges will decide who will be leaving. So basically, while America can choose who moves on, the judges will have the final say in who goes home.
Next, there was a group performance of "Without You." It was full of energy and a lot of fun. They all sounded great and each had their own solo. It was a very enjoyable performance and was a reminder of just how good everyone is, and how tough this decision really is.
Backstage footage from last night's show was shown and the judges and contestants reflected on the performances. The contestants then talked about what it would be like to have their own Pepsi commercial. The artist featured in the current Pepsi commercial, Outasight, performed "Tonight is the Night." The performance was great.
Suspense was high as the show was halfway in and we still did not learn any results yet. The decisions were of course being put off as long as possible, so we just had to wait it out (In my case impatiently! The anticipation was killing me!).
Then (Finally!), all of the contestants with their mentors were brought on stage and the top 10 acts were revealed. The 10 acts moving on are Marcus Canty, Drew, LeRoy Bell, Astro, Lakoda Rayne, Rachel Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, and Stacey Francis. America made a great choice. These acts gave strong performances and deserve to move on to next week.
InTENsity and Stereo Hogzz received the least amount of votes and would have to perform for their lives tonight. It's pretty surprising to see Stereo Hogzz in the bottom two. They gave a really great performance last night and shouldn't go home. Although they gave a pretty good performance last night, I agree with America for putting InTENsity in the bottom two. There were a lot of great performances last night, and their's just didn't seem as strong. Both of these groups are from Paula's category so, either way she loses a contestant.
The bottom two each had to perform once more to help the judges make their final decision. Stereo Hogzz sang "Emotion." This performance wasn't as good as last night, but their vocals sounded great and their harmonies were solid. I still think they deserve to stay.
InTENsity sang "My Life Would Suck Without You." This performance was high-energy and fun, but their vocals were not the strongest. I believe they were the weakest competitors both last night and tonight.
The judges then made the big decision. Each had to vote for the group they thought should go home. Simon voted for Stereo Hogzz, while Paula, Nicole, and L.A. voted for InTENsity. With three out of four of the judges votes, InTENsity is leaving the competition.
Way to go America for putting the best competitors through. With InTENsity gone, we are now left with the top 11- Marcus Canty, Drew, LeRoy Bell, Astro, Lakoda Rayne, Rachel Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, Stacey Francis, and Stereo Hogzz.
