Deadline writes that Broadway and FROZEN vet Josh Gad and writer/director Jeremy Garelick just unveiled an untitled musical comedy project featuring tunes by the legendary Alan Menken, with lyrics by WICKED's Stephen Schwartz.
According to the report, the film already has seven-figure offers from Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros' New Line, Sony Pictures, Fox and Universal.
Gad and Garelick, who worked together on THE WEDDING RINGER, are co-writing the story, with Garelick set to direct and write the script. Nothing about the plot has been revealed, but BWW will stay on top of any news!
Gad is currently starring opposite Billy Crystal in FX's THE COMEDIANS, premiering tonight. The actor, well known as the voice of 'Olaf' in Disney's mega-hit musical movie FROZEN, will soon appear as 'Le Fou' in the company's new, live-action adaptation of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
