The show made its debut in August 2016 at Angel Comedy Club as a work in progress production. Following additional development in London during the autumn the show was performed at Etcetera Theatre in November. The Wedding Guest is now gearing up to tour over the winter/spring beginning with another 2 day run at Etcetera Theatre in February, followed by The FRIGID Festival in New York City, and The Brighton Fringe Festival in May.
The show is written and performed by Raphael Perahia, and directed by Shea Wojtus.
Raphael Perahia studied improvisation in the UK with Monkey Toast, the FA and in New York with The Upright Citizens Brigade. He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and regularly performs improvisation around London with his team, The SEPS. He has studied clowning with SpyMonkey and graduated from Ecole Philippe Gaulier in 2015.
Shea Wojtus is an actor, director and clown hailing from Canada. She is a graduate of Humber's School of Creative and Performing Arts and Ecole Philippe Gaulier. Shea spent the greater part of 2016 developing and performing MorbidAbnormalMe co-created with Nora Smith. The show was met with rave reviews at its debut at the Brighton Fringe Festival. It was subsequently performed in London at Platform: Stories of Being, The Box Theatre Toronto, Bestival on the Isle of Wight, and Unscene 199 Theatre Festival. She has continued the development of her craft by participating in creation workshops with Bryony Kimmings, Theatre Gargantua and Convergence Theatre.
