Brooklyn-based theater company The Village is pleased to present the World Premiere of its inaugural production, The Village of Vale, in a three-performance limited engagement as part of LC Kids' 2017-2018 Season at The Clark Studio Theater (165 West 65th Street, 7th Floor). LC Kids performance dates are October 28th and 29th at 2pm, and November 4th at 2pm.

In this dark, fairy-tale musical, a mysterious traveler discovers a village where secrets and curses lurk behind every door and knowledge is as potent as it is dangerous. Six performers and a live band tell the stories of an obsessed bookkeeper, a cursed woodsman, and a traveler without a name whose arrival threatens to upend the lives of every villager in Vale.

The Village began collaborating in 2014 on its first workshop production of The Village of Vale at Brooklyn's The Invisible Dog Art Center. It was further developed at New Victory LabWorks at the New Victory Theater during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, and as part of Summer Forum 2017 at Lincoln Center Education. In addition, the show has received support from MIDDSummer Play Lab at Middlebury College and an Artist of Choice Award from the Kevin Spacey Foundation.

Written by Jonathan Karpinos (The Average Achievers), Joe Varca (I Was Tom Cruise) and John McGrew (Apollo Run); directed by Joe Varca; starring actors Mayaa Boateng (The Public's Julius Caesar), Jay Dunn (Serious Money) and Tara Giordano (2010 Helen Hayes Award Nomination, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical); joined by musical directors Jody Shelton (50 Shades!, Baby Wants Candy) and Katy Pfaffl (War Horse) and musicians Alon Bisk (The Great Comet of 1812, Spring Awakening). Lauren Elder (Hair), Jeff Kerestes (Hamilton, Apollo Run), Sarah Killough (Long Day's Journey Into Night), Regina Strayhorn (Bandits on the Run) and Brad Wentworth (The Sweet Remains). Stage Managed by Edda Simone (Sleep No More, Heisenberg), Scenic Design by Mimi Bai, Costume Design by Sandy Siu (Quantico, The Following), Lighting Design by John Wilder (Ars Nova Ant Fest, Joe's Pub), Sound Design by Matt Shane (Flight of the Conchords, Inner Outlaws).

In addition to the LC Kids performances, The Village of Vale will also be presented to New York City students, in partnership with Lincoln Center Education, for a limited number of shows starting on Tuesday, October 24th.
