THE SECRET GARDEN Original Cast Recording Will Be Released on Vinyl

THE SECRET GARDEN: ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST ALBUM is available in vinyl format for the very first time as a limited-edition pressing beginning today,November 16 exclusively at Barnes & Noble. Featuring music from the 1991 Tony Award-winning Broadway production, the 2-LP gatefold set arrives as part of Barnes & Noble's Vinyl Weekend event, set to take place November 16-18 both online and in stores nationwide. The GRAMMY-nominated cast album includes music by Lucy Simon and lyrics by Marsha Norman.

Directed by Susan H. Schulman and based on the classic novel of the same name, The Secret Garden made its Broadway premiere at the St. James Theatre in April 1991. The original cast featured a slew of Broadway favorites, including Daisy Eagan as Mary Lennox, Mandy Patinkin as Archibald Craven, Rebecca Luker as Lily Craven, John Cameron Mitchell as Dickon, Robert Westenberg as Dr. Neville Craven and Alison Fraser as Martha.

Upon its debut, The Secret Garden was awarded three Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical (Marsha Norman), Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Daisy Eagan) and Best Scenic Design (Heidi Landesman) as well as four Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Book of a Musical (Marsha Norman), Outstanding Orchestrations (William David Brohn) and Outstanding Set Design (Heidi Landesman).
