SilvaRoad Productions presents a revival of the 1964 hit Broadway comedy THE OWL & THE PUSSYCAT by Bill Manhoff. Zina Jasper, acclaimed actress, director & playwright, directs this showcase, featuring Patrick Christiano & Chantal Georges, at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, February 9-20, 2005, produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

The sexual comedy in three acts was a hit on Broadway with Alan Alda & Diana Sands in the leading roles & in the film version starring George Segal & Barbra Streisand, but has not been seen in New York for many years. The story about a sexually repressed writer & a prostitute is described by The New York Times as "comic writing…charged with startling intensity and truth." The Herald Tribune called the play "enormously entertaining."

Patrick Christiano & Chantal Georges portray the mismatched lovers, Felix & Doris. Mr. Christiano was last seen in New York in Pinter & Williams at the Blue Heron Theatre, as Richard in The Lover & Silva in 27 Wagons Full of Cotton. Curtain Up said "Christiano has a magnetic presence, especially as the brutal Silva." Chantal Georges was seen last season in New York as Paula in the new play Flesh Tint by Catherine Reichart at The Looking Glass Theatre.

Zina Jasper won an Outer Circle Critics Award for her performance of Rochelle in Saturday Night & has had an extensive career as an actress in theatre, film & TV. She directed Ellen Green in Starting Mondays at the WPA, & directed & co-authored I'M Here at the Passage Theatre Company.
