In the coming weeks, some of the brightest names in film, television, theater, books, will sit down with New York Times journalists for TimesTalks events at TheTimesCenter, 242 West 41st Street, new York City. Participants include internationally-acclaimed tenor Andrea Bocelli in conversation with Times culture reporter Robin Pogrebin; Pulitzer prize-winning film critic Roger Ebert with New York Times chief film critic A.O. Scott; and award-winning actor Samuel L. Jackson with New York Times media columnist David Carr.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, The Times will host a full day of TimesTalks with New York Times journalists Frank Bruni, Melissa Clark, Jeff Gordinier, Julia Moskin and Pete Wells in discussion with some of the world's most inspired chefs, successful restaurateurs and culinary stars, including chef and gastronomy expert Ferran Adrià; leading chefs April Bloomfield, Anne Burrell, Alex Guarnaschelli and Anita Lo; Bravo's "Top Chef All Stars" contestant and chef Jennifer Carroll with restaurateur Eric Ripert; Food Network star Guy Fieri; and award-winning chef, television personality and author Jacques Pepin.

A CONVERSATION WITH Samuel L. Jackson
The award-winning actor, making his Broadway debut in "The Mountaintop" as Martin Luther King Jr. this fall, talks about the role, the play and his career in theater, film and TV with Times media columnist David Carr.
