Nicky Silver's comedy THE LYONS begins previews on April 5 on Broadway at the Cort Theatre (138 W. 48 St.) prior to the show's official opening on April 23. Directed by Mark Brokaw, THE LYONS stars the Tony Award-winning actors Linda Lavin and Dick Latessa, along with Michael Esper, Kate Jennings Grant, Brenda Pressley and Gregory Wooddell.
THE LYONS is produced on Broadway by Kathleen K. Johnson.
Starting with its first performance on April 5, THE LYONS will begin its Rush Ticket Policy: priced at $26.50 each, a limited number of general rush seats will be sold for each performance, on the day of the show only, when the box office opens. Cash only. Limit 2 tickets per person.
And starting April 26, THE LYONS Thursday performances will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets to THE LYONS are on sale now through Telecharge at 212 239 6200, online at www.telecharge.com or at the Cort Theatre box office.
THE LYONS is described as "a funny and edgy work starring Linda Lavin as Rita Lyons, the indomitable matriarch of a family at a major crossroads: her husband is dying, her son's in a dubious relationship, her daughter's struggling to stay sober and on top of it all, she can't settle on a new design for the living room."
THE LYONS -- the first play by Mr. Silver (PTERODACTYLS, RAISED IN CAPTIVITY, THE FOOD CHAIN, THE EROS TRILOGY, THE MAIDEN'S PRAYER, etc.) to come to Broadway, enjoyed great success during its sold-out run Off-Broadway at Vineyard Theatre last year. Kathleen K. Johnson presents The Vineyard Theatre production of THE LYONS on Broadway.
