'THE LION SINGS TONIGHT- CHRISTMAS' One Time Event On 12/15

The talented cast and crew of Disney's THE LION KING will host THE LION SINGS TONIGHT - CHRISTMAS - a cabaret-style show featuring performances of Holiday and Broadway standards. This very special one-time event will be held on Monday, December 15 at the American Cabaret Theatre located at 401 East Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN. Tickets are currently on sale for $30 for general admission and $50, which include VIP Seating and a Post Show Reception with members of the cast of THE LION SINGS TONIGHT - CHRISTMAS and THE LION KING.

Audience members will enjoy over 15 performances from principal and ensemble cast members. Additionally, audience members will also have an opportunity to participate in several silent auctions featuring South African Hand Carved, Hand-Beaded Ornaments and Animal Figures and local dinner packages paired with tickets to "Disney's THE LION KING".

All proceeds will benefit The Damien Center and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).
The Damien Center was established in 1987 to respond to the growing AIDS crisis in Indianapolis. Initially staffed entirely by volunteers, the Center has grown into the largest HIV/AIDS service organization in Indiana and is recognized nationally for its leadership and innovation in care and prevention programs. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading industry based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization.

TICKET INFORMATION
Tickets for THE LION SINGS TONIGHT - CHRISTMAS are currently on sale for $30 and $50 each and may be purchased in advance by calling The Damien Center at 317-632-0123 x263 or online at www.damien.org. Additionally, tickets may also be purchased at the door, pending availability. Seating at $30 is general admission. $50 admission includes VIP Seating as well as a post-performance reception with the cast. This one night only performance will be held at American Cabaret Theatre located at 401 East Michigan Street Indianapolis, IN.

ABOUT DISNEY'S THE LION KING
Now in its second sold-out decade in New York, THE LION KING is the winner of six Tonyâ Awards including Best Musical, eight Drama Desk Awards, six Outer Critics Circle Awards, the New York Drama Critics award for Best Musical, the Evening Standard Award for the Theatrical Event of the Year, two Olivier Awards, a Theatre World Award, the Astaire Award for Outstanding Choreography, two Drama League Awards and a Grammyâ Award for Best Musical Show Album.

Director Julie Taymor became the first woman in Broadway history to win the Tony® Award for Best Director of a Musical. Taymor, along with Michael Curry, created hundreds of masks and puppets for THE LION KING. Choreography is by Garth Fagan, scenic design is by Richard Hudson, costume design is by Julie Taymor and lighting design is by Donald Holder. The book has been adapted by Roger Allers, who co-directed the animated film and Irene Mecchi, who co-wrote the screenplay for THE LION KING. The score features Elton John and Tim Rice's music from the animated film along with three new songs by John and Rice, additional musical material by South African Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Julie Taymor and Hans Zimmer.

The Indianapolis return of Disney's THE LION KING is now playing at The Murat Theatre for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 28. This Indianapolis engagement is currently one of seven productions running worldwide along with New York, London, Hamburg, Tokyo, Fukuoka and Paris. Performance times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Special Holiday Performance times are 2 p.m. on November 26, November 28, December 24 and December 26.
