THE ISLAND OF NO TIME to Receive Staged Reading Image

What happens when Time runs out ... literally?

Kristen Lowman answers that question in fairy tale format with The Island of No Time (A Timeless Tale). A staged reading directed by Sara Ravid will be part of the 10th anniversary season of Planet Connections Theatre Festivity at the Theaters of the Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street, New York City, (btw Rivington & Delancey). This special presentation will be Thursday 7/19 @ 3pm-5:15pm

A little Lewis Carroll, a lotta David Lynch, and just a hint of George Lucas, Ms. Lowman's story focuses on Mother Time having just stormed off, calling it quits on Father Time. Since time has stopped on the Island, Hour, Minute & Second are out of a job!

Meanwhile, Deliadeath and Adamort, two evil witches with no Time on their hands (get it?), can now wreak havoc for all eternity. But just in case, they are also trying to inhabit the souls of two shipwrecked children in case Mom & Pop Time patch things up.

With help from Badass, Natterjack, Nutty Tree, and the Queen of Stink, the race is on.

A host of stellar artists bring these characters to life. Featured in the cast are Isabel Keating, currently on Broadway in WICKED. Ms. Keating was nominated for a Tony as Judy Garland in The Boy from Oz. Joining her is Gordon Joseph Weiss from the recent Broadway company of FOOL FOR LOVE with Sam Rockwell and Nina Arianda. He, too, was a Tony nominee - for Best Featured Actor in GHETTO. Peter McRobbie, a colleague of Ms. Lowman, appears as Two-Trees. He is remembered for acclaimed performances on Broadway in Night Must Fall, The Master Builder, Philadelphia Here I Come, The Invention of Love, The Crucible, and others.

The cast also includes Rosie McGuire, Kate Mueth, Sawyer Spielberg, David Quay, Peter Gonzales, Raye Levine, Bob Jester, Michael Doonan, Aiden Hart, and Amanda Jones.

Kristen Lowman began her career as a member of John Houseman's The Acting Company and has credits including Broadway and regional theater. As a writer, her short story, Sadiki, was published in the 30th-anniversary issue of Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts. Her play, Time Will Tell, had a concert reading at The Guild Hall Theatre in East Hampton with Cynthia Nixon, Judith Ivey, and Elizabeth Wilson.

Sara Ravid is a New York-based producer, director, and creator. Her most recent producing credits include Book Club at Dixon Place and Aplomb at the Actors Fund Theater. Recent directing credits include Retinitis Pigmentosa at Playwrights Horizons Theater School and #Me Too, Theater Women Tell Their Stories at the National Action Network 2018 Convention. Her recent performance art piece Ananke: I'm Fine, created and performed in collaboration with Rosalie Neal, recently premiered at the Triple Nine Festival and the Allouche Gallery. She is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Playwrights Horizons Theater School.
