The MTV fans have spoken! Voting their favorite motion pictures into the stratosphere for the "2010 MTV Movie Awards," film fans everywhere have made "The Hangover," "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" and "Avatar" this year's top nominated films. Fans can expect to see another cinematic fight to the finish as these three juggernauts battle some heavy competition from each other and from the two mega-movies nipping at their nominated heels: "The Proposal" and "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." Winner voting for the "2010 MTV Movie Awards" in 12 returning and brand-new categories begins today, Wednesday, May 12 at 12pm ET/9am PT at MovieAwards.MTV.com and closes Saturday, June 5. Aziz Ansari hosts the "2010 MTV Movie Awards" LIVE on Sunday, June 6 at 9pm ET/8pm C from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA.
Making this year's show another battle of the super-fans, the hit comedy "The Hangover" leads with six nominations; the blockbusters "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" and "Avatar," are neck-in-neck with five nods each; and audience favorites "The Proposal" and "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" are each up for four awards. "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" -- make room for "Team Na'vi" as "The Twilight Saga" prepares to defend its popcorn statue legacy against "Avatar" in the "BEST MOVIE," "BEST KISS" and "BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE" categories. Comedies get a little cut-throat too as stars of "The Proposal" Sandra Bullock and Betty White get in the faces of "The Hangover" stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong in the "BEST WTF MOMENT" and "BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE" categories. Showing that fan loyalty of "The Twilight Saga" knows no limits, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will go up against each other in the "GLOBAL SUPERSTAR" category and the men of "New Moon" will face-off against "Harry Potter" superstar Daniel Radcliffe for the "BEST MALE PERFORMANCE" award.

It's anyone's and any film's game as the MTV fans hold the destiny of the golden popcorn awards in their hands. From May 12 - June 5, viewers can visit MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote to make winners of their favorite nominated films, movie moments and actors. Continuing its tradition for being one of the most shocking and atypical awards show on television, the "2010 MTV Movie Awards" will feature three all-new and outrageous categories that include "GLOBAL SUPERSTAR," "BEST SCARED-AS-S**T PERFORMANCE" and "BIGGEST BADASS STAR." For the first time EVER in "Movie Awards" history, voting will go international as fans worldwide will be able to vote for their favorite global stars in the "GLOBAL SUPERSTAR" category by visiting their local MTV websites.
Starbucks Coffee Company joins the "MTV Movie Awards" for the first time as this year's voting partner which includes the category of "BEST MOVIE." This one, special category will remain an ongoing battle as voting for favorite film of the year will remain open throughout the LIVE show.
