Award-winning playwright, Suzanne Bachner returns to the United Solo Festival with the World Premiere of her new show The Good Adoptee. The solo show performed by Anna Bridgforth who has collaborated with Suzanne on numerous shows including We Call Her Benny, which premiered at the First-ever FRIGID New York Festival and later enjoyed a successful run at the Michael Weller Theatre. Suzanne Bachner directs The Good Adoptee. After selling out the first two performances, a third date has been added on Saturday, November 21st at 4:00 pm. In addition to The Good Adoptee, Suzanne is also directing and developing Bob Brader's solo show, Smoker which premiered at the United Solo Theatre Festival on October 16th. A second show of Smoker was added on Tuesday, November 17th at 9:00 pm after the first performance sold-out.
The Good Adoptee, written by Award-winning playwright Suzanne Bachner, is the true story of her lifelong search for the truth of her origins. Once she opens Pandora's Box, can she find a way to integrate her dual identities and still remain the Good Adoptee?
Suzanne Bachner is a member of the United Solo Academy and has been involved with the United Solo Theatre Festival as a director and developer since its inception in 2010. She served as director and developer on her first production, Bob Brader's Spitting In The Face Of The Devil which won Best Script at the Inaugural United Solo Theatre Festival and returned to sell out and win Best Encore at the United Solo in 2014. In 2012, she directed Bob Brader's Preparation Hex at the Third Annual United Solo and in 2014 she directed and dramaturged Stories of Love and Passion by Canadian Burlesque sensation, Rosie Bitts. This will be Suzanne's United Solo debut as a playwright.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Advocating Legislation for the Adoption Reform Movement (ALARM). ALARM is a national non-profit organization challenging sealed records in the United States.
