In this next edition, we caught up with MEMPHIS favorite James Monroe Iglehart, who also just finished filming a special cameo in the upcoming NBC series SMASH.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

The first Broadway show I ever saw was the Wiz in San Francisco, but the first Broadway show I ever saw actually on Broadway in NYC was Bring in the Noise Bring in the Funk.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

I have to make sure I'm in the prayer circle and I have to slap hands with my fellow cast mate Preston Dugger III before every show!

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

One night I badly twisted my ankle during my solo Big Love. I kept going in the song, and I finished out the show through two other dance numbers. Not my smartest move but I just wanted to finish!

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

Sadly I have played them all but I would love to play Batman in an alternate universe. Nerd talk, I know!

Who is your Broadway crush?

Ha! My wife of course!
