Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!
In this next edition, we caught up with one of Broadway's most beloved belters, Lindsay Mendez, currently starring in the revival of Stephen Schwartz's GODSPELL!
What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?
SHOWBOAT at the Gershwin. (It was AMAZING.)What is your most unique pre-show ritual?
Jumping on the trampolines while singing a high C to see if it's there that day.
What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?
Probably in GODSPELL when the bar that Jesus is crucified on didn't fly in, so we had to crucify him on the ground, while he stood there. We all threw our bodies around on the ground and I'd say there were MANY Oscar nominations that deserved to be awarded that day - the biggest to Hunter, who stood there, with his arms outstretched in the "cross" position for about 6 minutes. (No arm workout necessary that day!)What is the one role you want to play before you die?
Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd.
Who is your Broadway crush?Where can people stalk you on the web (twitter/fb etc.)?
