Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with your favorite Broadway stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Ciarán Hinds, who stars as 'Deputy Governor Danforth' in The Crucible, playing at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

Lanford Wilson's mysterious and dark 'BURN THIS' in 1987 - I was completely blown away by the performances of John Malkovich and Joan Allen.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

Gargling with Barry's Tea while trying not to choke on a Ricola.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

While playing Don Pedro in Nick Dear's version of Tirso de Molina's Don Juan with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the early '90's, I managed to trip over my feet, fall off the stage and land with a heavy thump at the feet of the audience in the front row. Fortunately Lloyd Hutchinson, my trusty batman, leapt after me, picked me up, dusted me down, somehow levered me back on stage and with a very casual "There you are, sir", on we went....

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

I've never had a desire to play a particular role, I'm usually fired up by the thought of the project and the people involved - that being said, I've always harboured a secret hankering to play Cleopatra although I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.

Who is your Broadway crush?

Brian d'Arcy James... no need to expound.

Where can people follow you online?

I don't Tweet, Facebook, Instagram so I guess if there's any following to be done, it's going to have to be by foot.
