In this next edition, we caught up with Ryan Breslin, who is starring as 'Race' in NEWSIES- currently playing at the Nederlander Theatre!

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

I was a very late bloomer with theater, the first show I saw was WICKED with a high school theater group. It was an actual epidemic because our flight was delayed so many times we missed about half of the first act. We ran into the theater right before "Popular" and everyone still managed to be sobbing by the end of the first act.... Nerds.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

I'm no stranger to the 'circle up' but NEWSIES requires a lot of energy. My newest ritual is one red bull, some temple run, and (at least) fifteen minutes of G.O.O.D. Hip Hop music.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

One of the first musicals I was ever in was BIG:THE MUSICAL. Our high school built 2-two story houses on the stage that rotated by having about half the cast push with all their might to make these things move. One night during a scene change one of the wheels broke... And the house became stationary. But the show MUST go on!

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

I don’t have a specific role in mind to be completely honest. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to originate another role in my lifetime ;)

 Who is your Broadway crush?

My sweet sweet girlfriend Alysha Deslorieux would HAVE to be my answer. She is on Broadway with SISTER ACT!
