In this week's edition, we caught up with Teal Wicks who is starring as 'Young Ilene' in Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story- currently playing at the The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?
Ragtime. It was my first trip to NYC and it was Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell's final show. At the time I didn't realize how huge that was, but I fell in love with the show and Audra became my idol. What is your most unique pre-show ritual? It evolves from show to show, but it's The basics: vocal warmup, physical warmup that varies depending on the show (foam rollers are a must!), catch up with everyone backstage, and then put on that beat! But before all that, I have coffee...it's my guilty pleasure, but my show just doesn't feel right with out my cup of coffee to kick me into gear.Videos
