In this week's edition, we caught up with James Wirt, who is starring as 'Bruce' in Phoenix- currently playing at Cherry Lane Theatre.
What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?
Wow I actually can't remember. The last show I saw was Of Mice and Men.
What is your most unique pre-show ritual?
Looking at old family photos and talking to myself in the mirror.
What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?
I was in the Off Broadway show "Let's Kill Grandma this Christmas" and I'm coming out with a big white pillow to smother Grandma in the middle of the night but before my entrance I couldn't find my pajama pants, I was cued for my entrance and I enter with my tight white underwear and long black socks and a huge white pillow. The audience
erupted into laughter and I had to hide my own face in the pillow because I was cracking up while I was supposed to be in a serious scene with the other actor. "The show must go on", so much fun!!!
What is the one role you want to play before you die?
I would love to play 'Charlie Fox' in Speed the Plow and 'Jamie' in A Long Day's Journey Into Night.
Who is your Broadway crush?
Where can people stalk you online?
