Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Kate Loprest, who is starring as 'Allison' in First Date- currently in previews at the Longacre Theatre; opening August 8.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

The first Broadway show I ever saw was CABARET at Studio 54. I was a junior in college studying Musical Theatre at the University of Michigan and had yet to see an actual Broadway show until then. My Dad and I sat at the front center table. I'll never forget it.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

I must floss, brush, and gargle before every show....and I suggest that you do it, too!

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

I've had quite a few but the one that takes the cake is when I was on for Glinda in Chicago company of WICKED. I was waiting to go onstage for "Dancing Through Life" and the heel of my right shoe literally cracked off. Telly Leung, who was playing Boq, looked at me and said, "What are you gonna do?" So I reached down and grabbed the left heel and cracked it off too. I figured it would be very distracting to both the audience and my cast to go onstage with one heel. However, it looked like I was wearing golf cleats with the nails sticking out of bottom of my shoes. My cast mates had a good laugh but who knows if the audience ever knew.

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

(Refer to my answer for #1) Must play Sally Bowls and Vanda in Venus in Fur before I die. Non-negotiable.

Who is your Broadway crush?

My Broadway crushes are Kara Lindsay (Newsies!) and Alessa Neeck (Cinderella). Haha! So maybe I don't have crushes on them, but they are some of my best friends and I love them very, very much!

Where can people stalk you online?

Check out www.KateLoprest.com! Also, I have a thing for Instagram. (I have a 2 year old puppy. 'Nuf said.)
