Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Jordan Gelber, who is starring as 'Buddy' in ELF- currently playing at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

ANNIE

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

Lately, at the 5-minute call, I have to spot-check various locations around the stage to make sure I have water or gatorade for my hot few seconds off-stage during the first act of Elf. Thank goodness I also have an amazing dresser and wig specialist helping me out along the way, as well.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

When we first introduced the "Vote Your Heart" campaign for Avenue Q, we had a live Bush/Kerry puppet debate and cast performance in Duffy Square for all the tourists, locals, and press. Of course, the weather was just awful on the day of the event, and it was pretty much raining non-stop during the performance. The only instrument we had for accompaniment was an electric keyboard, played by music director Gary Adler. Right as we began to sing the song "Vote Your Heart," the keyboard began to take on water. Ever so slowly, the notes began to wobble and flatten. The keyboard proceeded to go through a spastic aural electric death, reminiscent of HAL's demise in the film "2001". Throughout the whole fiasco, we, the cast, sang the song, pretty much entirely on pitch. The keyboard finally shut down, and the whole second half of the number ended a cappella. We all ended up becoming so much more focused because of the situation, and I think it actually helped sell the song even better.

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

'Tevye.' I also would love another shot at 'Marty.'

Who is your Broadway crush?

Leslie Kritzer. Or Michael Mandell. That's a tough one.
