Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Joey Calveri, who is starring as 'Stacee Jaxx' in Rock of Ages- currently playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

The first show I ever saw was the touring company of Les Miserables... My first "On" Broadway show was Crazy for You

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

Haha... This is going to sound really weird, but as Stacee Jaxx I spend a lot of time admiring myself in a mirror. I seduce myself. It's kind of a necessary part of getting into that character. At 5 mins to "places", I always jump rope to get my cardio going. And if I really need to wake up, I'll dance on a chair in my underwear to "Call Me Maybe"

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

Rock of Ages is always full of unique surprises... We promote a really good time at our show, and once in a while we will have audience members that show up having 'started without us', if you know what I mean. They can sometimes get a little loud and unpredictable, so we have to be on our toes to keep the show going. I think everyone in our cast is really good at defusing that situation.

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

Of course to originate roles is the highest goal for most actors, and for me. But I've always been drawn to the edgier, darker, rockin' or sexual roles of musical theatre. Also the ones that get to relate directly to an audience. Like the Emcee in Cabaret or the Lead Player of Pippin, etc.

Who is your Broadway crush?

I seriously don't know how to answer that question. I have a talent crush on so many people in this business... men and women... I could write a novel. Every performer I come across fuels me in so many different ways.

Where can people stalk you online?

Facebook, Twitter, also check out my original band MACHINE ELVES ... upcoming concert June 8th at Irving Plaza!
