Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with your favorite Broadway stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!
In this week's edition, we caught up with Lisa Howard who most recently starred on Broadway in It Shoulda Been You, currently in previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?
The first show I saw on Broadway was the revival of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. What is your most unique pre-show ritual? Most unique... Hmmmm, I'm not sure that I do anything that most performers wouldn't do. Recently I have been doing the netti pot before shows. Just trying to keep healthy. It's been a rough winter!
What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment? The first time I went on in the finale of Priscilla, I'm still not quite sure what happened, but they couldn't unhook me from my perch and when they finally did, the bus couldn't turn at the right time, so I literally messed up every single persons blocking on stage. Know one knew what to do or where to go, but they all kept singing and we managed to get to the end. That was pretty memorable. Ha!
What is the one role you want to play before you die?
I'd love to play Mama Rose in Gypsy:-)
