No.11 Productions has announced the World Premiere of The Eyes of Orbach, an original play with music, presented from February 19th through March 7th as part of the FRIGID New York Festival.
"Jerry Orbach gave his heart and soul to acting and the gift of sight to two New Yorkers." What if those two New Yorkers fell in love? In The Eyes of Orbach, Billy and Paul, each a recipient of one of veteran actor Jerry Orbach's eyes, meet and fall in love at first sight. As their relationship unfolds, strange "Orbachian" things begin to happen around them; the candlestick at dinner begins to talk, musical theatre happens randomly and dreams appear in the style of Law & Order. The show is a unique look at how other people change the way we see the world.
The cast features Julie Congress, Steven Conroy*, Aaron David Gleason, Haley Greenstein and Scott Raymond Johnson*. The production team includes Ryan Emmons (Director), Aaron David Gleason (Music), Jen Neads (Visual Artist/Prop Designer) and Julie Congress (Costume Designer). *Appearing courtesy of the Actors' Equity Association
Director Ryan Emmons is currently the Assistant Director of Matilda the Musical and is the Co-Artistic Director of No.11 Productions. He was the SDC Observer for Ghost the Musical on Broadway and has directed at Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Columbia University. Composer and actor Aaron David Gleason's music has been recently heard on the CW's "Arrow", American Airlines Inflight Show and NBC's "The Jimmy Lloyd Show".
The Eyes of Orbach marks No.11 Productions fifth appearance in FRIGID New York. No.11's original interactive musical Quest for the West: Adventures on the Oregon Trail! went on from FRIGID to a three week run at the Kentucky Repertory Theatre and has toured to Washington, DC, Saratoga Springs and, most recently, FringeNYC.
