THE BEST MAN's Cybill Shepherd to Guest Star on LAW & ORDER: SVU

TV Guide reports that Cybill Shepherd will appear in a guest role on NBC's LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT during the series' 15th season, set to debut in October 2013.

Shepherd will play "Jolene Castille", a Southern restaurant owner charged with murder after shooting an unarmed black teenager on the Upper West Side.

Sound familiar? Paula Deen and the Trayvon Martin case have been all over the news lately, and it looks like NBC isn't shying away from addressing racism and more in this upcoming episode.

Shepherd last appeared on TV in The Client List and Psych. Her upcoming film projects include Squirrels to the Nuts and Cal & Kelly. Shepherd's other TV appearances include Franklin & Bash, Hot in Cleveland, Eastwick, The L Word, Cybill, Moonlighting, The Yellow Rose and more.

She was recently seen onstage in last year's Broadway production of Gore Vidal's The Best Man.
