THE ALGONQUIN KID Comes to Amas ImageCalling all fans of the Algonquin Hotel! On November 17th at 8 pm, Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present a very special concert performance of Michael Colby's "The Algonquin Kid," his popular memoir of growing up in the legendary hotel. With a singing cast that defines excellence, along with new and revealing stories about Marilyn Monroe Peter Ustinov, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and a collection of stunning Hirschfeld drawings, and props from the Hotel itself, the phrase "quintessential New York evening" comes to mind.

The location is A.R.T. in the Mezzanine Theatre at 502 W. 53rd St. at 10th Avenue. For reservations, please email boxoffice@amasmusical.org or call 212-563-2565.

Written and hosted by Michael Colby, the show is directed by Charles Repole with music direction by Michael Lavine. The performance will feature multiple award-winning recording and cabaret artist, Natalie Douglas, Broadway performers Donna English (Nice Work if You Can Get It, Lend Me a Tenor), and T. Oliver Reid (Once on This Island, Chicago), and West End theater star, Bistro Award Winner and Drama Desk Award nominee, Jon Peterson (George M. Cohan Tonight!), singing songs associated with denizens of the hotel during its renaissance from 1946-1987 when it was owned by Colby's grandparents, Mary and Ben Bodne. Some of the composers who will be represented are Lerner & Loewe, Noel Coward, Alec Wilder, George Gershwin, and Rodgers & Hart.

"Michael Colby had the unparalleled experience to grow up in the fabled Algonquin Hotel, the storied home to the Algonquin Round Table and the legendary artists who stayed there," says Amas Artistic Producer Donna Trinkoff. "He spent many days and nights there roaming the halls and listening and learning from its occupants. 'The Algonquin Kid' offers a unique perspective of a time gone by."

Please join Amas Musical Theatre and Michael Colby and cast for this quintessential New York Experience!
