On Wednesday, June 14th at 7:30 PM, there will be a public presentation of TESS the musical, based on the Thomas Hardly classic Tess of the d'Urbervilles. It will take place at Christ Lutheran Church (300 Hillside Dr. South) in New Hyde Park, New York.

TESS will feature music and lyrics by Annie Pasqua and a book and additional lyrics by Ed Huether.

TESS is a tragic story of love and sexual obsession in which its title character finds herself confronting a man named Alec as well as a judgmental Victorian society.

Abotu 10 songs from the musical, linked by a short plot synopsis and a glimpse into a few scenes, will be presented. Jenna Pasqua, Jeremy Hudson, Mark Cahill, Blair Goldberg, Madelin Dezego and Tracy Lynn Conner will perform the new material.

The first portion of the evening will feature some chamber works by composer William F. Reed.  Then after a short intermission, about 50 minutes of TESS will be performed.

Christ Lutheran Church is Wheelchair Accessible. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors; call (516) 746 - 4889. For more information on the project (including music downloads), visit www.tessthemusical.com.
