TENOR & ADDAMS FAMILY Honor The Actor's Fund, 6/27 & 7/11

The Broadway productions of LEND ME A TENOR and THE ADDAMS FAMILY will dedicate performances to The Actors Fund on June 27 and July 11, respectively, granting proceeds to the fund in support of their programs and services.  Both performances begin at 8pm.

The Actor's Fund is a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The Fund is a safety net, providing programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition. Social services programs include Entertainment Assistance Program, Seniors and Disabled, HIV/AIDS Initiative, The Dancers Resource, and Howel Emergency Life Project, among others. LEND ME A TENOR has received three Tony Award nominations (Best Revival of a Play, Best Costume Design (Martin Pakledinaz) and Best Featured Actress (Jan Maxwell), four Outer Critics Circle Award nominations (Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Director of a Play (Stanley Tucci), Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play (which Jan Maxwell just won), and Outstanding Costume Design (Martin Pakledinaz). It received three Drama League Award nominations as well: Distinguished Revival of a Play and two Distinguished Performance Awards (Jan Maxwell and Tony Shalhoub).

Set in the 1930s, LEND ME A TENOR is Ken Ludwig's screwball comedy that takes place when Tito Merelli, the fiery-tempered and world famous Italian superstar, arrives in Cleveland, Ohio to make his debut with the local opera and promptly goes missing. As Saunders, the show's presenter, conspires to cover for Tito's absence, placate his hot-blooded wife, and distract his most passionate fans, chaos on a truly operatic level ensues.

LEND ME A TENOR stars Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Justin Bartha, Brooke Adams, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz, and Jan Maxwell, and is directed by Stanley Tucci. THE ADDAMS FAMILY, currently playing the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, stars two-time Tony Award winners Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth as Gomez and Morticia, The Addams Family also features two-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann as Mal Beineke, two-time Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello as Alice Beineke, two-time Tony Award nominee Kevin Chamberlin as Uncle Fester, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Zachary James as Lurch, Krysta Rodriguez as Wednesday, and Adam Riegler as Pugsley.
