TENET, "a respected fixture on the New York concert scene" (WQXR), under the artistic direction of soprano Jolle Greenleaf, announces a collaboration with Dark Horse Consort and Bach Collegium San Diego in a program entitled Praetorius: In Dulci Jubilo. The program includes many beloved works by Michael Praetorius and features rarely heard gems by some of his contemporaries including Hammerschmidt, Rosenmüller, Schütz, Scheidt, and Schmelzer.

The New York City performance is part of TENET's fifth anniversary festivities and takes place at 7PM on December 14 at Park Avenue Christian Church (1010 Park Avenue, New York). This performance is co-sponsored by Park Avenue Christian Church's Arts at the Park 2013-2014 Concert Series.

The ensembles will offer two additional performances in California: St. James-by-the-sea Episcopal Church in La Jolla on December 21 as part of Bach Collegium San Diego's 2013-2014 Season and St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Los Angeles on December 22 as part of Da Camera Society's 2013-2014 Concert Season.

The Combined ensembles will take the listener through a musical offering that includes many elements of a Lutheran Vespers as one might have been performed in a large church in Northern Germany during the mid-seventeenth century. Works to be performed include:

Praetorius:
Puer natus in Bethlehem
Vom Himmel hoch
Quem pastores laudavere
Es ist ein Ros
In dulci jubilo
Singet und klinget

Schütz: Freuet euch des Herren, Psalm 33
Schütz: Der Engel sprach
Schein: Wie schön leuchtet
Hammerschmidt: Kyrie and Gloria
Rosenmüller: Leibe Herre Gott
Schmelzer: Pastorella

Featured artists include TENET's Jolle Greenleaf and Molly Quinn, sopranos; Luthien Brackett, alto; Hank Heijink, theorbo and Dark Horse Consort's Robert Mealy and Julie Andrijeski, violins; Alexandra Opsahl, cornetto; Erik Schmalz, Mack Ramsey, and Nicholas Daley, sackbuts and Bach Collegium San Diego's Ruben Valenzuela, chamber organ, Anne-Marie Dicce, soprano; Matthew Tresler, tenor; Paul Tipton, bass; Daniel Zuluaga, theorbo.
