TEMP Art Space Announces 2013 Exhibition and Program Schedule

TEMP presents its third exhibition, (in)complete - an investigation of the meaning of both process and product in contemporary art through the diverse artistic practice of eleven contemporary artists. Rather than focusing on the final art object, the exhibition will emphasize the development of a work or concept over time. By examining the varied approaches of the featured artists, the exhibition will prompt the viewer to consider the necessity of a finalized art product and will question whether an artwork is ever truly complete.

Apparel designer Sarah Leslie Richards presents her new collection Richards S/S, a wearable tableau of vibrantly painted landscapes and scenes.

In conjunction with (in)complete at TEMP, the exhibition curators present a special beer tasting thematically corresponding with the show.

Ensemble Moto Perpetuo
Music Performance - Friday, February 22th, 8p

Under the artistic direction of Amir Shpilman from Brooklyn Composer's Collective, the new music chamber orchestra Ensemble Moto Perpetuo will debut eight compositions.

The Ensemble includes: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, horn, trombone, tuba, percussion, piano, violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, contrabass, and conductor.

of realness, tangibility, and matter of factness as a departure (or
arrival) point in their otherwise wide ranging visual and conceptual
articulation.

I sow, I scatter presented by The YoMoCo
Dance Performance - Friday, March 15th and Saturday, March 16th. Doors open at 7:30p

Organized by Audrey Rose Smith and TEMP Art Space. I sow, I scatter is a movement installation that explores the performativity of dance when the stage has been removed and the audience and dancers occupy the same space. A deconstruction of Diderot's "fourth wall", the installation focuses on the use of contemporary dance and movement outside of a traditional stage setting by encouraging the audience to act as an invisible voyeur placed in the middle of a mythic world interrupted.

The installation features a troupe of seven dancers with the choreography and creative direction of recent NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduates Matthew Flatley and Robert Vail with production direction by Jonathan Qualtere.

Art & Craft organized by Alex Ahn and Ari Lipkis

The second exhibition organized by TEMP co-directors Alex Ahn and Ari Lipkis, Art & Craft challenges the notion that there is a clear separation of fine art and technical craft. The show presents artists who adeptly utilize technical skills to create works that masterfully combine aesthetics and concept.
