Theatre Communications Group (TCG) announces the availability of the U.S. edition of Richard Bean's One Man, Two Guvnors, published by Oberon Books. One Man, Two Guvnors arrives on Broadway on April 6, 2012, starring James Corden, the leading man from the London run. This edition is the Broadway version of the One Man, Two Guvnors script, specially revised by the playwright to tickle the funny bone of American audiences.
This adaptation of Carlo Goldoni's classic play The Servant of Two Masters was hailed as the funniest comedy to grace London's West End in years, earning a bevy of five-star reviews. In Richard Bean's side-splitting take on Goldoni's comic gem, falling trousers, flying fish heads, star-crossed lovers, cross-dressing mobsters and a fantastic onstage band are just a few of delights that await at the most "deliriously funny" (Daily Telegraph) play to cross the pond in decades.
Richard Bean is a British playwright whose work has been produced by The National Theatre, the Royal Court and the Lyric Hammersmith. His plays include England People Very Nice, The Heretic, Harvest (winner of the 2006 Critics' Circle Award for Best New Play), Honeymoon Suite, Under the Whaleback, Toast and The Big Fellah. He also adapted David Mamet's House of Games and wrote a new version of The Hypochondriac for The Almeida Theatre.
