TCG Books Publishes Amy Herzog's BELLEVILLE

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the publication of Amy Herzog's Belleville, the third title by acclaimed playwright Amy Herzog to be published by TCG. Belleville received its world premiere at Yale Repertory Theatre in 2011, its New York City premiere at New York Theatre Workshop in winter 2013 and its Chicago premiere at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in the summer of 2013.

Abby and Zack, young American newlyweds, have abandoned a comfortable postgraduate life in the states for Belleville, a bustling, bohemian, multicultural Parisian neighborhood. But as secrets both minor and monumental are revealed, their fraught relationship begins to unravel. Belleville examines the limits of trust and dependency in a world where love can turn pathological and our most intimate relationships may not be what they seem.

Amy Herzog's plays include After the Revolution (Lilly Award); 4000 Miles (Pulitzer Prize finalist, Obie Award for the Best New American Play); and The Great God Pan. She is a recipient of the Whiting Writers' Award, the Benjamin H. Danks Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Helen Merrill Award, the Joan and Joseph F. Cullman Award for Extraordinary Creativity and the New York Times Outstanding Playwright Award. She is a Usual Suspect at New York Theatre Workshop, and an alumna of Youngblood at Ensemble Studio Theatre, Play Group at Ars Nova and the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab. She has taught playwriting at Bryn Mawr and Yale. She received an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
