T. Schreiber Theatre of Chelsea Manhattan has announced dates for the final production of their 46th season, "Hysterical", by Jim Geoghan. Written by the EMMY-nominated Executive Producer for The Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, "Hysterical" was chosen out of nearly 100 full-length plays as T. Schreiber's 2016 New Works Project. The play will receive a workshop production with 8 performances July 13-23, 2016, with free stand-up comedy preceding the following dates: July 15, 16, 22, & 23.

Bobby Sharp, a veteran Las Vegas comedian, has landed in a mental hospital with a nervous breakdown after years of self abuse. He's visited by people who live in his past, his present and his imagination as he attempts to piece together his life. This dark comedy deals with the strange contradiction found in many comedy professionals. As Bobby explains, "Being funny and being happy... got nothin' to do with each other."

Geoghan wrote the Off-Broadway play "Only Kidding", which received two DRAMA DESK nominations including "Outstanding New Play", and ran for over 400 performances. "Hysterical" is directed by Crystal Edn, company member of Articulate Theatre, Nylon Fusion, and Rising Sun. Emcee and comedic actor Mike Blum plays the leading role of Bobby Sharp. The cast also features Robby Ramos, Noelle P. Wilson, Diane Tyler, Lauren Lelund, Linda Hill, Niles Gunning, Dan Sturges, Gavin Bazalar, Emma Traubert, and Zulla Berhe. Lighting design by Destiny Cordero, Costume design by Sherry Martinez, Sound design by Andy Cohen, Production Stage Management by Clarissa Ligon, and Fight Choreography by Halle Morse, who is also the Theatre's Producing Director.

T. Schreiber Theatre began operations in conjunction with Terry Schreiber's acting studio in 1969, at the beginning of the Off-Off Broadway movement, in a converted loft. In the mid-70's, the organization attracted national attention when Walter Kerr's glowing review of Schreiber's production of "The Trip Back Down" launched a Broadway production starring John Cullum. The organization moved to East 4th Street in the 80's, during which time Mr. Schreiber directed two more Broadway shows, "K2", which received 3 TONY nominations, and "Devour the Snow". His Off-Broadway directing credits include "Desire Under the Elms" at The Roundabout Theatre with Kathy Baker and "Feedlot" at Circle Repertory with Jeff Daniels. He has directed at regional theaters around the country including The Guthrie, Syracuse Stage, Hartman Theatre Co., Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Buffalo Arena Stage (directing Celeste Holm and Betty Buckley) and George Street Playhouse. Internationally, he has directed numerous American plays in Japan. Altogether, he has directed over 100 plays, a mix of contemporary plays and modern classics. In 1996 the Studio moved to its current, renovated multi-use space on the seventh floor of 151 West 26th Street, where classes and productions run continuously throughout the year. Actor alumni of T. Schreiber Studio & Theatre include Edward Norton, Peter Sarsgaard, Jonny Orsini, Julia Garner, Julia Udine and Julie Halston. The T. Schreiber Theatre presents five full productions per year, a mix of revivals and new works.
