Sylvan Productions to Present Comedy Festival, THE BESTIVAL, This Month

Be prepared for a weekend of funny as folks that have appeared on popular comedic outlets like Conan, Comedy Central, VICE and SF Sketchfest gather to produce a festival for all humorists alike to enjoy.

SF Weekly's Best Comedy Troupe award winners Sylvan Productions will bring their favorite comedians, writers and shows from across the country to party and crack jokes at PianoFight, The Milk Bar, and the Big Rec Tap Room in San Francisco.

With show titles like #HellaFunny, the Fine Gentleman's Club, and WasTED Talks, you're bound to find something that will tickle your funny bone in just the right place.

Recently featured on an episode of VICELAND's Flophouse, Sylvan's comedians are quickly making a name for themselves as up and coming names in the comedy scene. Robin Williams even made a surprise appearance once at a show, so you never know who will be there.

PIANOFIGHT is San Francisco's landmark entertainment venue for indy arts, housing a full service restaurant and bar with a cabaret stage and two intimate theaters. We present New Work by New Artists, most of which is local. Shows run the gamut from world-premiere plays to inventive sketch comedy, choose-your-own-ending plays to audience-judged theater competitions, improv to variety shows, dance, live podcasts, film screenings, game shows and more. Plus we usually have a live band playing on our cabaret stage before and after shows, and the staff is super friendly.

THE MILK BAR is located at 1840 Haight Street in San Francisco across from Amoeba Records and at the entrance to Golden Gate Park. The club offers a diversity of entertainment ranging from live music to video and DJ parties. It's been a surrogate home to the comedians of Sylvan Productions and has quickly become a staple of the Bay Area comedy scene.

THE BIG REC TAP ROOM is the latest beer & wine bar in the heart of the Mission District. Big Rec's dining area features 6 large flat screen TVs. It's a baseball themed bar, which makes it exactly the kind of bar that Sylvan likes to party at.
