On Monday, August 21, Sweeney Todd cast members will travel downtown to Bowery Ballroom (6 Delancey St., near Bowery) to perform in concert, with doors to open at 8 PM.

The evening will feature Michael Cerveris, Manoel Felciano, Benjamin Magnuson, Donna Lynne Champlin, and much of the rest of the cast, while Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and Nellie McKay (The Threepenny Opera) will appear as guest stars.

"For one night only, the company of Sweeney Todd is forsaking the rarefied environs of Broadway and reconnecting with their downtown roots for an evening of new and unexpected non-musical theater musical stylings. Michael and his band will be performing songs from his first album, 'Dog Eared,' as well as debuting songs from his forthcoming release 'The Hinterlands EPs' (both available on Low Heat Records) due out in early autumn. Mano, Lauren, Benjamin, Donna Lynne and the rest of the cast will be performing a mixture of their own songs and covers, joined by many other members of the Sweeney Todd company of actor/musicians," state press notes. Sheik and McKay will perform their own songs and those of others.

The evening is being organized by Cerveris as a benefit for BC/EFA, an entertainment industry leader in the fight against AIDS and in the support and care of persons afflicted with and affected by this devastating illness.
