Celebrate America concert, which will take place all day at the Hofstra University Arena in Hempstead, NY on June 25th.
Morton (
Brundibar, Taboo), Wopat (
Chicago, Annie Get Your Gun) and Love (
Hairspray) will be joined by Daniel Rodriguez (The Singing Cop), and cabaret stars John and Bucky Pizzarelli for the concert, which is entitled "A Salute to Broadway." Cast members from Broadway's
Jersey Boys, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, The Color Purple, Dirty
Rotten Scoundrels, The Light in the Piazza, The Lion King, Avenue Q,
Rent and
Sweeney Todd will join those from Off-Broadway's
Altar Boyz and
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change for the performance.
The co-hosts of the "WOR Morning Show"--Ed Walsh and
Donna Hanover--will serve as the main co-hosts of the concert, which will also include appearances by Joan Hamburg, Tyler Florence, Dr. Joy Browne, Bill O'Reilly, Dr. Ronald Hoffman and Joey Reynolds.
Talk show hosts/journalists Ellis Henican and Lynne White will also take up co-hosting duties for some of the day. Funds from ticket sales will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
